Xplain

Don't Search for Answers. Xplain It.

Xplain is SigmaZ AI's interactive answer engine. It turns any question into an interactive video, clickable presentation, or structured document — with infinite depth on every concept. Not another chatbot. Not another search result.

Why Xplain

Search gives you links. Chat gives you text. Neither shows you what you're actually asking about — and showing is how understanding works. When you type a complex question into any existing tool, you get words about a thing. Xplain generates the thing itself: a visual walkthrough, a clickable diagram, a structured breakdown where you can pause and go deeper at any layer.

The difference matters because not all questions are the same format. "What is the difference between a stock and a bond?" is a comparison question — it wants a table or parallel structure. "How does a transformer model work?" is a process question — it wants a diagram and a step-by-step. Text chat gives you the same format every time. Xplain generates the format that matches the question.

Every answer stays interactive. Tap any concept, term, or claim to generate a focused sub-explanation. Your understanding branches naturally — the way learning actually works — rather than ending at the edge of what the original answer covered.

Who It's For

Students — When a textbook chapter doesn't click, Xplain shows you what reading it should have shown you. Ask the question. See the answer in a format that makes it land. Every concept in every answer can be expanded on demand.

Researchers — Process unfamiliar concepts across disciplines quickly. A new domain becomes navigable when every term can be expanded the moment you encounter it. Build working intuition before diving into primary sources.

Knowledge workers — Understand something outside your domain in minutes instead of hours. Stop pretending you've read the article. Xplain builds a real foundation, not just surface familiarity.

Teams building internal wikis — Every answer in your knowledge base becomes interactive and deep, not a static page that people stop reading halfway through.

Anyone who's re-read a paragraph three times and still not understood it — Xplain was built for exactly this moment.

How It Works

Type your question. Xplain analyzes the complexity and intent, determines the optimal answer format, and generates a response artifact — typically in under 20 seconds. You can specify a preferred format or let Xplain choose the one that best fits your question type.

Every artifact is live. Tap any term, concept, or section to generate a focused sub-explanation. Sub-explanations are tracked in your session knowledge graph — a visual map of everything you've explored, so you can always jump back to any point in your learning path.

Answers can be saved to your personal library, shared via link, or embedded in Notion, Confluence, or any web page. Shared answers are fully interactive for anyone who receives them — no Xplain account required to explore.

Three Answer Formats

Xplain generates answers in three distinct interactive formats, each optimized for a different type of understanding:

Interactive Video — A narrated visual walkthrough with AI-generated diagrams, animations, and on-screen highlights. Best for process questions ("how does X work?"), mechanism questions ("why does Y happen?"), and comparisons that benefit from visual contrast. Average generation time: 18 seconds.

Clickable Presentation — A slide-style format where each frame covers one concept, with navigation controls and interactive callouts. Best for multi-step explanations, structured comparisons, and content meant for sharing with others. Exports as shareable link or embeddable iframe.

Structured Document — A reading-first format with expandable sections, inline definitions, and contextual examples. Best for detailed factual questions, reference material, and content that needs to be scannable and skimmable. Saves to your library in full.

You can switch between formats after generation. The same underlying answer is restructured into whichever format you choose — you don't need to re-enter the question.

Concept Expansion

Every term, concept, or claim in an Xplain answer is tappable. Tapping opens a focused sub-explanation for that specific concept in the context of the surrounding answer — not a generic definition pulled from a dictionary, but an explanation that connects what you just tapped to what you were already reading.

Concept expansions are generated in the same format as the parent answer by default, but you can switch formats per sub-explanation. A video answer can branch into a document expansion if you need to scan rather than watch. A presentation can branch into a video if the sub-concept needs to be shown rather than read.

There's no limit to how deep you can branch. Each sub-explanation generates its own tappable concepts, and every branch is tracked in your session knowledge graph. The branching model means you can always go deeper on anything you encounter — and always navigate back to exactly where you were.

Session Knowledge Graph

Every Xplain session builds a visual knowledge graph — a map of every concept you've explored and every connection between them. The graph shows your starting question at the center, with sub-explanations branching outward as nodes. Each node is tappable to jump directly back to that explanation.

The knowledge graph persists across sessions for logged-in users. Over time it becomes a visual map of your intellectual territory — what domains you've explored, what topics you've gone deep on, and where the gaps are. It's a fundamentally different record of learning than a history log or a saved links list.

Knowledge graphs can be exported as interactive HTML pages, shared via public link, or embedded in a portfolio. For enterprise users, team knowledge graphs show what concepts are most frequently explored across the organization — a signal for what information needs better internal documentation.

Share & Embed

Every Xplain answer generates a shareable link that preserves full interactivity. Anyone who opens a shared answer can explore it exactly as you did — tapping concepts, branching into sub-explanations, and switching formats — without needing an Xplain account. Shared answers never expire.

Answers embed natively in Notion, Confluence, Linear, Coda, and any surface that supports iframes. The embedded version displays in the format you set at share time and remains fully interactive. Embedding is available with or without the Xplain header, configurable via a URL parameter.

Private answers can be shared with a passcode-protected link. Enterprise teams can restrict sharing to their organization's domain. All shared answers support analytics: view counts, concept expansion activity, and format switching behavior.

Enterprise & Team Use

Xplain Enterprise adds team-level features built for organizations that want Xplain embedded in their knowledge infrastructure. Teams share a collaborative library of saved answers, with tagging, search, and version history.

Administrators can set an organizational knowledge base — a set of internal documents, wikis, or URLs that Xplain uses as the primary source for answers before drawing on its general knowledge. This keeps answers grounded in your company's terminology, processes, and context.

SSO via SAML 2.0, Google Workspace, and Microsoft 365. SCIM provisioning for automated user management. Usage analytics at both individual and team level. API access for embedding Xplain answer generation directly in your product or internal tool.
